Between the wondrous whimsy of a child, and the weary wisdom of an adult, lies the realm of The Beautiful Strange. Inspired by the worlds of The Dark Crystal, Legend, Labyrinth, The Neverending Story, and many more, The Beautiful Strange is a tribute to the weird and wonderful fantasy worlds that absorbed us as children, as seen through the insightful lens of adulthood. Join us as we celebrate and rediscover the fantasy worlds that live within us all.

One of the most interesting, innovative, surprising Improv secrets in Portland.
Skinny Dip is an incredible show to watch or participate in. There is always something wonderful, something bizarre, something touching, something hilarious to be delighted and surprised by.
Skinny Dip is a great opportunity for open stage time. You can come and play with other improvisers, take creative risks, get practice, hone your skills, or monkeying around. Bring a poem or a song to share, tell a story, or practice a monologue. The space is being playfully held for you to see, be seen, and grow. We are excited to have you participate!
All acts are given 5 to 7 minutes to perform depending on how many participants are signed up. If your act, group, or experiment needs more time than that, feel free to request the amount of time you need in your email and we will see what we can do.
If you'd like to perform alongside other enthusiastic, respectful, fun and funny improvisers in our jam, show up around 9:15 - 9:30pm to sign up in person. Signups will close at 9:45 to ensure that the show goes smoothly.
If you'd like to sign up to perform, please send an email with a description of your act to email@example.com.
We Teach What We Do!
Try it for yourself! Our radically different approach to improvised theater is taught by an exceptional staff of instructors who love what they do and want to share it with you.
Meet Your Instructors!
Robyn Vazquez, Sarah Thompson, Domeka Parker & Elena Afanasiev are looking forward to our upcoming Training Program Session! These incredibly talented women have over 40 years of performance and teaching experience between them. They are all proud Ensemble members and community leaders who feel strongly about Deep End Theater's unique approach to improvisational theater, creating opportunities for women in theater, and lifting students toward their potential in this very supportive creative environment.
Taking classes at Deep End opened my eyes (and ears) to communication tools I didn't even know I needed. Not only has class opened doors for me into the world of improv, it's given me new techniques for navigating the world around me."
