Master Class
Friction without Fighting:
How to inhabit conflict in an improvised scene

Conflict can be confusing in an art form that uses "Yes, And" as a guiding principle. Yet conflict is a part of life as we navigate our own needs and desires in a complicated world. This workshop will use discussion and theater games to explore how conflict styles inform our characters and scenes. Instead of avoiding conflict or asserting dominance to squash it, we can learn how to work with conflict cooperatively for rich and engaging performances.
Thursday, March 19th
6 - 9 p.m.
$45
Taught By: Kari Smit
Location: 1129 SE Market St.
About your teacher:
Kari has been performing improv and community theater in Portland since 2013. She loves improvised theater as a way to explore change and connection and honestly believes that art can change the world.
