Master Class: GenreLearn to improvise with style!
Just as you can't be "neutral on a moving train," you can't be neutral when it comes to genre in improv. This workshop will dive into the subtle and big choices improv players can make to create a stylistic world for their scenes live within.
We will work on the classic genres and also pick a single genre as a class on which to do a deep dive and apply these skills. Wednesday Feb. 18th 6 - 9 p.m. $45 Taught by: Doug Dean Location: 1129 Se Market St. From your instructor: I've been learning and performing improv in Portland for over 20 years. I have been fortunate to have helped devise and act in many highly-stylized genre-heavy improvised (and scripted) shows over this time. As a teacher, I love drilling down into what makes improvised storytelling both so powerful and so much fun. |
